A “normal hip”, as opposed to a mechanical hip replacement, is preferable, if possible. Hip preservation involves any procedure designed to allow the patient to maintain normal hip anatomy. This can be anything from PRP, stem cell, or amniotic fluid injection to hip preservation hip arthroscopy. In my practice, I use all of the above to preserve normal hip anatomy while eliminating pain and preserving normal hip mechanics.
